Sally Lawrence
Sally Lawrence has spent over 20 years working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in education. From teaching in the Torres Strait to leadership roles in Indigenous education, she has developed programs supporting community-led learning and curriculum development.
Sally has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education – Early Childhood (1995)
- Masters of Environmental Education (2000)
- Certificate 4 TAE
Sally is the daughter of Richard Johnston (Kangaroo Point, Brisbane) and Lesley Hansen (Hughenden).




Peter Lawrence
Peter Lawrence is a historian, writer, researcher, and educator with 25 years of teaching experience.
Peter Lawrence’s Aboriginal great grandmother was born on Yuggera speaking country in the Rosewood Scrub, Rosewood QLD in 1880. His large extended family has lived on Kabi Kabi country for 100 years. He is a presenter, researcher, writer and historian who focuses mainly on QLD Aboriginal history. He has written for Cambridge Press, Australians together and the Academy for Social Sciences in Australia. His current focus is on the Rosewood/Ipswich area, contact history in QLD and the Native Police.
Peter has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts 2nd class Honours in Humanities (1995)
- Graduate Diploma in Education Preservice (1998)
- Certificate 4 TAE
